Sales taxes are charged & collected on products that are purchased from within the state of California. The current tax rate (based in San Bernardino County, CA) is 8.75%.
So if you reside in California and are shipping the item(s) to a city/state outside of california, yes, your purchase is subject to the sales tax.
If you reside in Nevada or New York, and you purchase item(s) to be shipped to an address outside of California, then you are not subject to the 8.75% sales tax.
